It was spectating at Blenheim that did it. Watching people jumping into the lake, swimming, cycling, running … winning. I had wanted to do Blenheim myself, but all the tickets had gone when I applied. Then, with all the music that was going on earlier in the year, I didn’t get anything else in the diary. But it all came back on Sunday.
Then, today, a friend from Wild Training (who had participated in Blenheim) started talking in specifics: when might we be able to do one? At this point, three possible options have been identified. So – watch this space!
Anyway, this is all by way of background as to today’s activity. To give my legs a break, and work on my weakest triathlon stage, I thought I’d have a nice swim this evening. I managed 0.85km in about 26 minutes ish. I still felt a bit weak, presumably due to my continuing low-carb experiment, but not too bad.
And, with that, I’ll bid you good night!
Juneathon activity: 0.85km in 26 minutes (plus some foam rolling)
See – I’d love the swimming part – as long as it was in a nice heated swimming pool 😉
I think so long as you have a well-fitting wetsuit, even open water isn’t so bad..! If it’s really nippy it takes your breath away for a few moments, but the adrenalin fires up and it’s all systems go! (Pools are still good, though!)
